在英国，这些地点分布在76个不同的县，其中Greater London拥有最多（15个）。
GuessTheDot 中的地点类型是为了游戏而按人口和聚落类型进行的实用分类，而不是法律或历史上的定义。一个地方即使拥有正式的城市权利（或古老的城市宪章），如果规模仍然很小，这里仍可能将其显示为村庄，反之亦然：这是一个用于猜测的大致规模等级，而不是关于某地正式地位的声明。
